Raiz Federal Credit Union is excited to welcome two remarkable additions to our leadership team: Lisa Carter, who joins us as Mortgage Production Manager, and Claudia Torres, who steps into the Real Estate and Business Lending Administrative Analyst role. Their expertise and dedication to serving members will help us advance our mission of empowering our communities with responsible and accessible financial solutions.

Lisa Carter: Mortgage Production Manager

With over 20 years of experience in residential and commercial mortgage lending, credit risk management, and loan workouts, Lisa Carter brings a wealth of knowledge to Raiz. Her proven track record spans executive roles in credit unions, including serving as Vice President of Lending at Chocolate Bayou Community Federal Credit Union, as well as practical lending and risk management experience at organizations such as Legacy Home Loans, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and SECU Credit Union. Lisa’s background features managing complex loan portfolios, leading loan recovery efforts, and ensuring regulatory compliance, all while maintaining a strong dedication to member service and operational excellence.

Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University and maintains an active NMLS license. She is recognized for her strategic insight, collaborative leadership style, and dedication to strengthening member relationships. Now relocating to El Paso, Lisa shares: “I am thrilled to join Raiz Federal Credit Union and look forward to helping more members achieve their dream of homeownership. I’m excited to become part of the El Paso community and support our mission of building financial well-being for all.”

As Mortgage Production Manager, Lisa will oversee our mortgage lending efforts, guide team development, and continue to foster growth while embodying the core values that define Raiz.

Claudia Torres: Administrative Analyst, Real Estate and Business Services

We are equally excited to welcome Claudia Torres, an executive leader whose 17+ years in the credit union movement have been marked by transformative leadership in digital banking, lending, electronic payments, and community development. Most recently, Claudia served as Assistant Vice President of Consumer Lending at GECU, where she led lending operations to record-breaking growth through data-driven strategies and leadership development. Her career highlights also include launching modern payment services, expanding financial literacy programs, and building high-performing teams aligned with regulatory standards and member needs.

Claudia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from UTEP and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Fluent in English and Spanish, she is deeply rooted in the El Paso community and passionate about helping members succeed. Claudia shares: “Joining Raiz is an exciting new chapter for me. I am eager to contribute to an organization that prioritizes integrity, innovation, and service, and to help shape the future of real estate and business services for our members.”

In her new role, Claudia will oversee project management, vendor relations, and data analysis for the division, ensuring our operations stay innovative and member-focused.
