Close or Delete Your Personal Raiz Account and Digital Banking Access

While we’re sad to see you go, we understand that financial paths can change. If you wish to close your Raiz account or remove your digital banking access, including mobile app usage, we’re here to help.  You may do so by contacting us at 1-877-378-3281 or by visiting your nearest Raiz branch.

You can request to close or delete your Raiz account anytime. Your account must meet the following requirements before it can be closed:

  • Your account has a positive or zero balance with no fees owed.
  • All deposits, outstanding, and pending items have been processed.

 

What Happens When Your Account Is Closed or Deleted

When you close your Raiz account, all your digital banking access, including your mobile app account, will be deactivated. Any stored data will be handled in accordance with Raiz Federal Credit Union’s data retention policies and guidelines.

 

Account Closure Delays

In some instances, there may be specific conditions that temporarily prevent the closure of your Raiz account. Should this be the case, you will be informed of the situation upon your account closure request. These conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • Transactions that are pending completion, such as those made with debit cards or Overdraft Protection transfers.
  • Inactive Raiz accounts that may need to be reactivated
  • Unresolved legal or account restrictions.
  • Funds pledged as collateral that are pending release.
  • Overdrawn account balances. Raiz accounts must be brought to a zero or positive balance.

 

Early Withdrawal Penalties

Early withdrawal fees may apply to certain accounts, such as a share certificate if withdrawn or closed before maturity date. Fees may reduce earnings.
