On November 28, 2023, Raiz Federal Credit Union (Raiz FCU) in El Paso, Texas, embraced the spirit of Giving Tuesday by awarding $82,500 in scholarships and grants to students, education professionals, and local non-profits. This annual initiative, rooted in Raiz’s commitment to education, reflects the credit union’s dedication to empowering individuals on their journey toward new pathways forward.

Raiz FCU honored 19 recipients across various categories, including the Raiz Community Scholarship, the Michael Sandoval Memorial Scholarship, the Raiz Up Professional Development Grant, and the Together We Raiz Community Grant.
Raiz Up Processional Development Grant
Introduced in July 2022, the Raiz Up Professional Development Grant underscores Raiz’s commitment to educators in the Region 19 district. Max Villaronga, Raiz FCU’s President and CEO, expressed gratitude, emphasizing educators’ impact on shaping tomorrow’s minds. This grant serves as a testament to Raiz’s recognition of the importance of investing in the professional growth of those who play a crucial

Together We Raiz Community Grant
Established to uplift local non-profit organizations, the Together We Raiz Community Grant reflects Raiz’s commitment to supporting the community beyond educational initiatives.
